Are You Standing at the Gate of Nain?

At the Gate of Nain: When Jesus Meets You in the Middle of Your Loss She stood at the gate of Nain, surrounded by the sounds of mourning. A widow already familiarwith loss, now faced the unthinkable—her only son was gone. With him went her protection, herprovision, her future. The crowd carried what was left of her life out of the city, and she followedwith nothing but tears. But then Jesus came. He didn’t rush past her pain or avoid the awkwardness of grief. He stopped. He saw her. Andwith the tenderness of heaven, He reached out and touched what everyone else avoided—theplace of death. One word from His mouth changed everything. The boy sat up. Then lifewalked back through the same gate where loss had once marched out. That’s what Jesus does. He steps into the places where death has taken over—hopes that havedried up, faith that’s grown tired, hearts that can’t see a way forward—and He breathes lifeagain. He restores what’s been marred, reverses what’s been lost, and turns our sorrow intostories of grace. Maybe today, like that widow, you’re standing at your own gate—tired, unsure, grievingsomething that feels too far gone. But Jesus is still the same. He still stops. He still sees. He stillrestores. The question is not whether He can, but whether you’ll let Him. Will you trust Him today?
