Intermission

IntermissionThe word "intermission" means to "pause",  and several synonyms are: recess, respite, hiatus, cessation, interruption, or rest.  These last 12+ months have certainly been all of those words and more for most of us.A well-known Dallas pastor had this to say about the "intermissions" of life:* Don't skip it* Refresh your mind and body* Reflect* Reevaluate* Spend time with GodIn using intermission as the "pause in a play" analogy, he says,The Curtain Will Rise Again! No one has been able to skip this last year. However, the other points that were made are worth pondering. How have I seen this last year? Have I slowed down, refreshed myself some, reflected on life, reevaluated what's truly important? Have I spent more time with God, or in seeking him?Intermissions will continue to occur in our lives. Whether they are viewed as an interruption or a rest is up to each one of us. Waiting times do not have to be wasted times." Heavenly Father, You know the struggles of this past year for us. Help me to see what You are doing in my life during waiting times. I want to make the most of each day. Teach me to refresh, reflect and reevaluate my time. The time I spend with You is my best time spent. Thank you for the gift of your Spirit. In Jesus' Name."
